Azaleas!

Since I was already talking about plants Yesterday, I figured I would show off the azaleas that grow outside our house. Most of the time the bushes actually look wilted and mostly dead. They’re really kinda sad looking. But when they bloom, they bloom like crazy, growing bright pink flowers all over them. Why can’t they look like this all the time?

My Herb Garden!

So, a while ago (and I do mean a while ago) I wrote a blog post about the small beginning of my herb garden. Now all my work has finally paid off. My garden is now producing Parsley, Basil, and it’s slowing growing Pineapples. Turns out you can twist the tops off store bought pineapples and grow new ones from the top. The pineapples are not actually producing fruit yet, (it takes them something like 2 years to flower) but they are still growing and have established roots. And this is the newest plant in my garden. I’m not sure how it got there, but it’s in the garden so I must have planted it. Now if only I could figure out how to get the roots started growing… Then we could eat golf ball fruit!

Veronica’s Reading Habits

I think it’s really neat that Veronica can read. I think it’s just keen that Veronica knows big words like apparatus and fortuitous, and can already spell most of her spelling words. The problem with this is she also likes to try and read EVERYTHING! I mean I don’t really think Veronica needs to be reading my biology. She also used to want to do everything she read in a book. Since she reads everything we really can’t do all of it. Although if she could do everything she read in a dessert cooking book, I could live with that.

Daily Plumeria

After Veronica saw the Plumeria with the hats all over it, she decided to write a short newspaper story about it. It is titled

“The Daily Plumeria!”

The new Plumeria Hat Tree arrived today. It is decked out in hats and color, and is very colorful and fun. It is a very attractive thing and is attracting the attention of a lot of people in Handley park and whoever drives the Langenkamps yard.

Reporter Veronica on the Scene!

Veronica also drew a picture of the tree with people all around it with the caption “Plumeria Hat Tree Stealing the Show!”

Stylish Plumeria!

I have always liked our plumeria, the way its branches bend instead of breaking, and the way the flowers look when it is in bloom. Recently however, when walking home from the park I have noticed that the plumeria looks kinda barren and sad. So I came with a great idea to restore its look of color and fullness, that is both practical and useful. We can use it as a hat-rack! That way you have a convenient place to hang your hats during a barbecue, your tree looks really stylish, and you can get a great new storage place. See! Even the shadow looks cool. The one problem is if it rains your hat will get wet, or the hat gets dirty, or rodents start living in it, or spiders and other bugs make a home it, or it gets blown away, or your hat could get stolen, or… okay maybe it really isn’t such a great idea.

Holding a Charge

While we were eating dinner this evening we were bemoaning the fact that we couldn’t find a working suitcase turntable for Anne (the first one came broken). And Mom and Dad had been looking at different options, and there was one that looked really neat, but the battery would not hold a charge. So as they were discussing this Veronica suddenly chimed in, “And I think all those batteries should come with clamps, because it would get tiring if you had to hold in the charge all the time.” It was very cute the way she said it, but I think she had reached the end of her knowledge on the subject.

February 3rd!

Yay, it’s finally February 3rd, and not Groundhog day. Reliving the day over and over was really annoying, but I figured it out. It all had to do with living a perfect day or something like that. By the way did the silly groundhog see it’s shadow or not? You know after 37 days you’d think I would have figured that out.

Groundhog Day!

It’s Groundhog Day!… again. For some reason I have been reliving today for about… 37 days now. It’s really annoying and I don’t know how to stop it. If there is any popular movie or something like that, that is similar to this, if someone could tell me about it so that I can get some reference, I would really appreciate it. But you’ll have to tell me today because you won’t remember tomorrow.

Trumpet Problems

Apparently someone does not want me to practice well. I mean it’s just one thing after another this week. First, when I tried to play my trumpet nothing came out, but a weird muted note. Turns out there was a cleaning brush which had somehow gotten wedged in the front of my trumpet. Then while I was wrestling with Stephen I busted my lip really badly. Then, as my lip was finally healing, I got a cough  and a runny nose. What next, will my trumpet keys get welded in place?
